Logo Design Campaign

WRAL Digital Solution Contest

WRAL Digital Solutions pitched a Logo Design Contest that was open to anyone that wished to submit a design. I designed a logo that played on the hexagon motif and color from their current branding in order to maintain the familiarity of this highly recognized brand in North Carolina. This design placed in the contest and successfully integrates with the brand as intended.

Large & Small Promos

From billboards to coffee mugs, the dark variant of the logo has the flexibility to stand out on any light surface whether it is in your hand or on your daily drive.

Process

In the conceptualization phase of this project, after sketching several thumbnails I quickly knew the direction in which I wanted to go. While WRAL was giving free rein on this logo redesign, I knew that they were not going to change their colors, and during my research, I discovered that several parts of their website used hexagon shapes outside of their logo. For this reason, I created a small and simple color swatch card to work within Illustrator. These HEX codes were pulled straight from the WRAL website in the event that if my logo was chosen it would integrate seamlessly. I worked with two final designs before arriving at the final design.
